Glynis is a leading educational consultant that helps teachers, leaders, and parents drastically improve outcomes for students with disabilities. Glynis consults and coaches stakeholders at  all layers of the student support system to design and implement specialized education programs to ensure student progress in academics, behavior, and social emotional well-being.

Our independent consultants collaborate with Layered Education on a project basis, bringing specialized expertise to meet the unique needs of our clients. Each consultant shares our passion and dedication to empowering stakeholders and transforming outcomes for students with disabilities.

Whitney Luigs
 

Whitney Luigs has been a Special Educator and Dyslexia Practitioner for 10 years in high and middle school contexts. She has led the special education departments at her previous and current schools, focusing on building programming on reading instruction, inclusion practices, and Universal Design for Learning in the general and special education settings.  

 

Specialty Areas:

  • Dyslexia interventions in both reading and spelling

  • IEP writing and compliance

  • IEP caseload management

  • Special Education master scheduling, caseloads, and co-teaching/push-in models

  • Analyze schoolwide data to make recommendations for diverse learners

Stacie Kurtz

Stacie Kurtz is a national special education consultant based out of 

Raleigh, North Carolina. With a background in teaching and leading across all domains of special education, Stacie’s career has been dedicated to developing teachers and leaders to build systems and structures that improve outcomes for all students with 

disabilities, particularly in underserved communities. Prior to 

consulting, Stacie was the Director of Specialized Services for 

Collegiate Academies in New Orleans. Prior to that role, Stacie 

served as a school-based Director of Student Support and an interim school Principal. For the first 10 years of her career, she was a general education teacher in co-taught classrooms for students with high-incidence disabilities, with most of her teaching experience at Achievement First charter schools in Brooklyn. Stacie is most proud of her time spent in the classroom, her impact on leaders and programs in many schools, and her contributions toward creating effective tools, beliefs, and practices that can be universally adopted across the country. 

 

Services

Within this work, I care so much about three things: driving toward equity, building skill and confidence in teachers and leaders in special education practices, and helping folks love their jobs in this field. 

I am always eager for work opportunities! I am open to serving locally, as well as nationwide and have a wide range of experience across the states. My offerings include, but are not limited to: 

1. teacher coaching (special education, co-teaching) 

2. leader coaching (any and all - network, school leader, teacher, etc)

3. program development (all abilities) 

4. operational/tech support for special education programming 

5. special education compliance systems support/coaching

Ashley Morris

Ashley Morris has served in education for over 10 years as both a School Psychologist and Special Education Administrator. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), she is passionate about behavior consultation and applying evidence-based strategies to facilitate positive behavior development and to ensure that students can fully participate in the least restrictive environment.

Ashley has participated in district initiatives promoting inclusive practices, developed district programs focusing on mental health and social-emotional learning, and fostered partnerships with community agencies to enhance supports for students and families. She is committed to creating collaborative, inclusive learning environments that empower students to excel academically, socially, and emotionally.

About Our Employees
 

As junior team members, they support the day-to-day operations that allow our services to run smoothly for schools, families, and students. Under the direct supervision of our leadership team, they assist with organizing materials and resources, preparing content, supporting events and projects, and helping with behind-the-scenes logistics that keep everything moving.

Our employees work solely for Layered Education as staff and are an important part of our ongoing infrastructure and growth.

Bradley Shulters

Junior Social Media & Technology Manager

Meet Bradley, our Junior Social Media & Technology Manager! At just 13 years old, Bradley brings fresh creativity, sharp technical skills, and youthful energy to the Layered Education team.

He supports our mission by assisting with digital content creation, social media ideas, and tech troubleshooting, always with thoughtfulness and innovation. 

Bradley’s curiosity and commitment are already making a big impact, and we’re lucky to have him shaping the future of special education alongside us.

Karlie Shulters

Junior Office Assistant

At just 9 years old, Karlie is already an essential part of the Layered Education team. As our Junior Office Assistant, Karlie helps keep our workspace running smoothly with her incredible organization skills. From cleaning and labeling to keeping supplies in order, she brings enthusiasm, responsibility, and a bright smile to everything she does. 

Her attention to detail and willingness to help are a daily reminder that leadership starts early, and with heart.
